A ‘Dog Fighting Ring’? Or A Case Of Over-active Imagination?

It’s a horrific crime but is the presence of one diseased dog enough evidence to claim a presence of a  ‘Dog fighting ring?’

I can’t help but feel that the Police and RSPCA could do with more facts before going public with this story:

“It was quite confronting for the inspector that went down there to investigate with Victoria Police. I saw the photos myself and it is quite disturbing.”

The dead animal was spotted late last week by a passerby who was walking past the empty Tootgarook property, south of Melbourne.

Mr Primrose said officials would now examine if a dog-fighting racket was linked to the animal’s death.

“It’s not something we’re going to discount,” he said.

“You can draw comparisons to dog fighting with the injuries apparent to the dog’s face. You could suspect that dog fighting is part of the cause.”

A Victoria Police spokesman said there was nothing at the scene to suggest a dog-fighting ring was behind the dog’s death, but it could not be ruled out.’
