Pit Bulls? Vicious? Not In Ohio

‘Pit bulls in Ohio will no longer be labeled as “vicious” dogs under a bill that’s been signed into law by Gov. John Kasich.

The governor on Tuesday signed the bill that changes a law defining a vicious dog as one that has seriously hurt or killed a person, killed another dog or is among those commonly known as pit bulls. The new measure removes the reference to pit bulls from the definition and requires evidence to prove pit bulls are actually vicious.’

Are pit bulls ‘Vicious’? They certainly can do a lot of damage. After working 12 years as a Vet I have seen nice pit bulls and I have seen frightening pit bulls, but here is a funny thing: Whenever I meet a vicious pit bull, there is always a big, tattooed, bikie leather wearing guy next to him. Could that have something to do with the problem?

  1. Pit bulls are not vicious by nature. The owners are the ones that create the vicious pit bull everyone is scared of, if you raise a pit bull properly then you wont have a problem with it. It all depends on how their raised, and even on how their bred. Any dog has the potential to be dangerous, it has nothing to do with the breed of the dog.

I agree with you but I am sure that you would accept that a powerful dog like a pit bull can do a lot more damage.

  2. Of course a pit bull can do a lot more damage, they are a powerful dog. They can do a lot of damage if they are provoked or just raised and trained to be aggressive.

  3. Pet

You are 100% correct Dr Vadim. Attached to every vicious dog is a much more vicious person. They take a dog from a pet to a problem.

People who make a dog vicious are cowards asking a dog to do their fighting for them. It is a pity that such people are allowed to own a pet in the first place.
