What Are The Laws For, If Not For This ‘Monster’?

‘The Bronx building superintendent who remains behind bars for allegedly keeping 50 pit bulls in a canine chamber of horrors is refusing to hand them over permanently to the ASPCA, which has been caring for them since his June 21 arrest.

Stubborn super Raul Sanchez, who was arraigned on a 76-count indictment accusing him of animal fighting, aggravated cruelty to animals and other charges, refused to forfeit the pooches after pleading not guilty in Bronx Criminal Court.

Sanchez was caged after a police raid discovered a sickening breeding and training dungeon in the Sherman Avenue basement where he lived. Investigators recovered treadmills, syringes, muzzles, harnesses, a fighting ring and electrodes commonly used to kill dogs badly hurt in fights.’

I don’t mean to tell our esteemed officials what to do, but isn’t it for people like that they created animal cruelty laws?

This person is clearly intending to continue doing harm to these dogs, so surely the dogs can be taken away through legal prosecution.

Am I missing something here?
